20080930-Tweaking Again

Standard

Okay, this time my ‘Current Theme’ is The Journalist v1.9 by Lucian E. Marin (via Design > Themes). I’ve opted for the original two column instead of one column and kept the ‘pale red’ background color, along with the distracting background image of reddish swirls, flowers and leaves set to a ’fixed’ position. Two scrollbars were placed for the ‘content’ (floating on the left) and ‘sidebar’ (floating on the right). I know these two are distracting as well but I wanted the scrolling for the ‘content’ independent from the ‘sidebar’. Plus, the look is shortened and no scrolling up and down is needed except for when reading. I like how the elements in shown for both ‘page’ and/ ‘post’ entries: author, time/date stamp, category and tag. The ‘leave a comment’, however, seems out of place underneath the post title. Let’s hope this theme is a keeper.

20080929-Domain Pains

Standard

Ack! My new ‘Home’ page is Flynn’s Paws and it shows the links to both my blogs. This means I now have twoweblog sites — one FREE under WordPress.COM as Flynn’s Blogs and one PAID under WordPress.ORG (via Yahoo! Small Business) as Flynn’s Orgone. I had to ‘Redirect `flynnspaws.com` back to `thebloggingpath.wordpress.com` via Settings > Domains because I didn’t want to loose my original permalinks (or my pretty reddish, layout).

At least there is a thirty day trial period before I decide to cancel if I don’t like this second self-hosting/small business service. (I cancelled the first one within fifteen days because I didn’t know what I was doing!) Since WordPress.COM doesn’t allow for FTP access, I’m ‘pissed’ again. This means I could do a manual upload for the posts, images and everything else (later on) that cannot be ‘merged’ from here to WordPress.ORG. I like both software, but the free version is by far easier.

I learned how to use Yahoo!’s ‘Tools for Managing [My] Site’: ‘File Manager’. For each folder, I actually used the ‘Easy Upload’ feature to install ‘The latest stable release of WordPress (Version 2.6.2)’ from WordPress.ORG. I downloaded and saved this file onto my computer. Then I placed my mouse over the zip folder and right clicked to ‘Extract all’. At first I kept uploading the zip file into a ‘directory’ incorrectly and had to delete those from the directories.

So I used my big head and the slow brain therein to come up with my answer. I had to ‘Create Subdirectory’ for each folder of the ‘unzipped‘ file. The ‘Subdirectory Name:’ MUST match each folder EXACTLY the way it appears. By clicking on the correct folder, I went through each file and uploaded those via the ‘Easy Upload’ tool of Yahoo! Again, the order in which the folders appear MUST match the upload of each file EXACTLY for each subdirectory.

My next challenge was selecting a theme from the WordPress theme directory. Once again, I employed my gray matter. It’s still smart, really. So I followed that small instruction at the bottom of the Design > Themes section of the WordPress.ORG version by uploading each folder and file with the ‘Easy Upload’ into the subdirectories. I chose Aspire 1.1.4 by InfoCreek.com theme. It’s brown and antique looking.

So there y’all have it. I just tried to ‘promote’ my site as the last of three steps for the ‘Site Solutions’ building tool of Yahoo! But the listing site of Yahoo! wanted to display a ‘Local Phone Number’. I’m not answering phones! I hate talking over the phone to faceless strangers. It’s annoying! As a matter of fact, I’ve set that phone number to fax mode; so all they hear is a recorded message and a beep. No!

20080928-Dream Journal

Standard

I awoke from a very deep sleep on 06:00PM by ‘Kali’. I couldn’t move for I was very relaxed.

Dream one:

I dreamt that I was indoors with a black guy and ‘Razor’, who was watching television from the floor to my left field of vision. I was in bed with the black guy in my right field of vision. I see his portrait hanging on the left wall. Its eyes were goggling. I turned to him and he started to google his eyes around and around. I wasn’t impressed and quite disappointed. My lower chakra was affected. This was not the only dream where ‘they’ hurt me.

Dream two:

I was driving around in a white car through a white town. ‘Razor’ was to my right. The town had lots of white building and the road was paved white. I see three old doors, leading to what appears to be underground the city. Two doors were located to the right, one block apart from each other. One door was to the left. The doors were very low as if meant for the basement and large enough to enter on the stomach.

The first door we passed was on the corner at a two o’clock direction and it was facing approximately a six o’clock direction. There appears to be a golden or circular knob. The second door was one block away. I remember telling ‘Razor’ that I went through this door to go underground. But when we passed that general location, there appears to be no second door. The third door was to the left and it appears to be nowhere too.

Dream three:

My dream self awoke to the sound of a loud helicopter flying over our home. My dream self got out of bed and looked at the second story window located above the stairway. I saw the pilot inside this very light, olive-colored helicopter. I noticed the clouds covered the skies. The clouds had the color of very light olive and some brown, too.

I went downstairs. It appeared to be daylight but muted because of the cloudy day. To my left, I see the door leading to the master bedroom, where my parental units slept. That room appeared very dark as if it was night time, even though it was daylight elsewhere inside the house and outdoors.

Then I noticed that the back sliding door was opened. I walked to close that black bar grills by going outdoors and swing it back from its opening position against its wall. But I looked up from underneath the wooden patio and noticed that part of the sky had some partial clouds, which showed some blue.

Addendum on 09/30/2008 at 12:26PM: There was an astringent smell in the air when I went to the backyard of my dream. Yesterday smelled like something in the air.

20080928-Domain Mapping

Standard

Okay, crap! I just read the Yahoo! article on ‘redelegating‘ (not transferring) my paid ‘domain name’ with Automattic, Inc. via WordPress.COM a few minutes. From that article I did step one on Thursday, 09/25/2008 and expected step four on Sunday, 09/28/2008. I didn’t realize that I should have done steps two and three.

So I logged into my WordPress.COM account, clicked on the ‘Help’ link to `faq.wordpress.com` and searched for domain name. I found the article ‘Domain Mapping‘ to be useful. The steps were easy to follow: change my password (via Settings > Domain), click on the ‘Manage Your Domains’ link at the bottom of this page, log in with my ‘Customer Number’ and new password, set the Nameservers for two required fields (Nameserver 1: * and Nameserver 2: *) based on the Yahoo! article and unlock my work.

Then I’ll have to wait up to 48 hours for the domain name to propagate through the internet! At least, I’ve created my beautiful new static pages of cream and green colors for orgone (or orgonite) resources. The only booger with the ‘Site Solution’ building tool was not being able to override the ‘PayPal’ button to read ‘Donation’ instead of ‘Buy Now’. I’m not happy again!

At least there is a link from the ‘Home’ page points back to my blogs here at WordPress.COM. I’m still anxious on the ‘administration panel’ will look like and feel. Hopefully, I could be happy with the Yahoo! template and keep the blog separate; otherwise I could always start over and ‘Make my blog [from WordPress.COM] my home page.’

20080928-Journey Begins

Standard

I’m settling in for the night after watching the ‘Journey’ concert (along with Cheap Trick first and then Heart next). The tickets were free but I ‘offered’ to pay for the ‘Premiere Parking’ for $20.00 at the Redwood Amphitheater, Mountain View, CA. We did a round about from the ‘right side’ of the parking lot and into the ‘main entrance’ of the place, asked two attendants for directions, came around to the ‘left’ side while waiting in the long line of other cars and found our parking spot under a tree – a corner.

Then we waited in the wrong line for a few minutes. As we made our way to the correct line (from the ‘left’ side of the parking and back to the original, right’ side of the parking lot where we originally got lost), we passed lots of other people in different lines for different tickets. I’m sure people saw the DB shirt of black with the pink, sun rings that I wore in order to make ‘our’ presence known to the more energy sensitive ‘people’ attending this concert.  I had my wide brim, white hat covering my face the whole time.

We found ourselves waiting in the correct line for another half an hour or so. I kept turning every which way to show off my shirt. I got tired standing after exercising my legs and sat down to put my lipstick on. There was no real reason to impress anyone since I wasn’t there to meet people or talk to them either.

We stood in the left line, got out of the way of a empty wheelchair, opened our purse and got our ‘Ticketmaster’ scanned and stamped. Then they made a quick pit stop at the restroom and then we walked up the very steep, right ramp leading to the ‘lawn seating’. We got our place smack dap in the middle of the lawn but we still couldn’t see the stage. At least there were two large screens for the lawn area and the main screen above the stage with two smaller ones on either side.

While waiting from 06:00PM to 07:00PM, I took the opportunity to lie down and depressurize my back. The ground was not soft. I could feel the pain of my snowboarding injuries from inside of my left hip socket. It was pinching my soft tissues and I couldn’t get comfortable. I found bending my knees in a ‘triangular’ shape also helped relieve the hard sensation of my lower spine area.

Sitting down hurts my tailbone and found lying down on their ‘Chinese’ mat helped avoid wet stains on my clothes (except two spots on my knee from kneeling down on the greenest grass) with my over-the-shoulder, black bag served as my pillow. I truly enjoyed being outdoors but well shaded as the sun started to set behind us.

This was the very first time in my life that I actually lied down and appreciated the clear blue sky without worrying about the critters crawling helplessly under my weight. My lifesytle has been mostly indoors and I felt one nature. I connected to the sky while daytime and later on to the stars at nighttime. I connected to the earth and its grass beneath my feet.

I inhaled very deeply as the free ‘smoke’ of stinkiness wifted throughout the air from the left hand side where ’thick girls’ – two whites and an Asian — were dancing and shaking their head wildly. Earlier there were much ‘thicker smokers — two Latino females. Ah, I remember the real buzz from years ago. I remember the withdrawal symptoms. There was nothing like second hand smoking among spectators who danced the night away.

Most were ’Pinoys‘, who wanted to see Arnel Pineda (a Filipino) perform as the lead singer to the rock group of the night. I could hear them singing along with me from behind. I got my four hours of aerobic dancing, too — first to ‘Cheap Trick’ for one hour followed by ‘Heart’ for another hour and then ‘Journey’ for two hours.

There were codes everywhere. A microphone testing was done exactly 09:11PM. The band started singed at exactly 09:22PM. Arnel sang a song that almost sounded like, ‘Yahweh’ as the cover of the ‘Journey’ album was shown on the five screens. The cover had two outstreched, white wings with the words ‘Revelation’ printed in between the wings. I sang outloud, ‘Yahweh’, and outstreched my arms like the wings each time he sang the last words of the refrain. I was boosting and blasting the whole time. The song finished at 09:33PM.

More songs were sung as I jumped and danced more. I kept to myself as usual — being the ‘third party’ or odd numbered person to any group for being the only one without a partner — that is my path. Whenever my feet started to hurt, I stretched my feet and legs and also relieve myself by lying down and stretching out my spine with small exercises. This was during the slower and unpopular songs. Then I’d get up to the more exciting and recognizable ones. I had simple fun by myself.

When ‘the wheel in the sky’ song was being sung, there were more codes here. The sun symbol of orange triangular rays spreading outward with its tip pointing ‘right’ was spinning counter-clockwise. At that time, I decided to point both my index fingers upward while keeping my forearm perpendicular to my upper arm and at shoulder length. Then the spinning wheel switched to a blue colored but very subtle, five-pointed star in the middle with some smaller five-pointed star at its tips. More five-pointed star symbols presented themselves among the guitar rift of the ‘Star Spangled Banner’.

Then I thought to myself something about ‘gifting’ everyone attending that night. The the brightest blue colored lights showed straight into our eyes. This lasted quiet a bit longer than the other flashing colors of pink, orange, red, blue, green and white. I saw the white of Arnel’s eye, which focused straight into the camera very briefly. It reminded me of the piercing look from the gaze of Barack Obama. Arnel’s facial feature and/or skull structure seemed to remind me of ‘Barry’s’. It’s odd. I know: I’m weird.

Overall, people were very, well behaved, except for the few pothead to my left side at a ten o’clock and eleven o’clock direction. Some people stood still in their places. Very few seemed to danced that night. I see that less ‘horned-signs’ were done at this concert and more index fingers were pointing upward. They got my message. They knew ‘we’ were there having fun and humor.

I kept boosting Arnel because I heard he missed his family back at the Philippines. He performed stronger this time. He sang from the heart: he placed with left hand on his heart several times.

Addendum on 09/28/2008 at 11:00PM (PT): As we exited, I walked even slower due to my aching feet (of mostly at the balls from as I had walked too long with high heels on) and kept making ‘peeping’ noises to let the faster walkers ahead of me know that this ‘old lady’ was right behind them and fast becoming an ‘old man’. We arrived at the car. The car was started. I noticed that the digital clock at the dashboard of the car read as follows: 11:11.
