20090930-Trying Theme

I got sick of looking at the three-column theme of Sandbox 1.6.1: It was too busy! It had everything except the full view of post entries in archives mode. So (ONCE AGAIN) I reverted to a two-column theme for free here at WordPress.com: Dusk by Becca Wei.

The appearance of this particular theme is cleaner and NARROW with a width of 760px, which I tested to fit well (by default) for screen resolutions of 800 by 600 pixels. The colors are `web-safe` in gray shades with font colors of cool blue.

My previous blog entry mentioned the feel of this weblog as a holy Mosque, all white-washed and such.

With the today’s new `Image Widget` by the HAPPY ENGINEERS, I’ve expanded the sidebar to include eight widgets:

  • Text widget – A greeting, a tagline, an image and words of encouragement.
  • RSS Link for posts and comments.
  • Text widget – A list of nine parent pages.
  • A search form.
  • Image widget – Recommended reading.
  • Flickr widget – Orgone and orgonite.
  • Image widget – PayPal button for donations.
  • Gravatar widget – Image and four useful links.

I would have like to add more widgets but it will make scrolling up and down to much work for the lazy readers!

Oh, look! I see a nice golden heart pendant made of orgone as a recent photo of the Flickr widget labeled `Orgone and orgonite`. I wished I had some money to buy this nice piece and a NANO SHIELD for my handbag, too!

20090929-Parasite People

The way I see it: a parasite is successful by hurting others.

In the recent news, firm director Roman Polanski raped a 13-year old teenager and was not caught until 30 years later! I wonder how the people working around him must feel. I wonder if those same workers are parasites too for being so popular with fortune and fame that goes along with the film industry.

He, like any law breaker, should be punished to the fullest extent of the law. By tolerating this character and similar behaviors, a civilized society will have fallen to moral depravity. It’s up to the older folks to protect the children. What happened? Are the older people afraid of the younger generation?

After saying the rosary this evening and after dinner, Maw was in tears and prayed in thanks but in the hopes that people acknowledge God and that schools implement prayers for protection and divine intervention (like angels and saints and martyrs) as a solidifying force behind a stronger society.

20090929-Bon Voyage

At around 18:50pm, the San Jose Fire Dept. (truck # SJS E-34) and the paramedics came over to pick up the poor soul. May God have mercy on her soul and health.

I waved at the cute guys from behind our roses. I wonder if Obama’s health care insurance reform bill would allow for this sort of intervention – pick up and haul away to greener pastures.

Earlier, Maw called the sister and we were waiting for almost one hour while I was sweeping the leaves from the backyard. No sooner than Paw screamed at me to get inside because the night air was freezing and that I might catch a cold or something worse (since I do NOT have health insurance), we heard the siren.

I ran downstairs, saw the cute guys outside and ran back indoors to grab my camera and took a few more photos as PROOF of these weird events. I mentioned to Maw earlier that the upcoming 2012 will be a transitional phase. And some unfortunate souls who are NOT prepared for this shift (or whatever scams being thrown to the curious) won’t handle the effects, just like what has happened tonight.

20090929-Image Widget

After viewing the latest WordPress.com News article The Image Widget, Plus News from Support from my dashboard under `What’s Hot` section, I added five of the `Image Widget – Display an image in your sidebar` onto my primary (left) sidebar:

  1. home alone! – Dante’s Inferno Satan via wikimedia.org.
  2. recommended reading – My image linking four book covers by Don Bradley.
  3. blog icon – Clipart image of an orange sun from Microsoft.
  4. my gravatar – My photo of a white flower from our backyard.
  5. symbolic initials – A downloaded icon of a Masonic symbol showing my initials.
  6. my doppelganger – A downloaded icon showing a Pikachu.

As a result, I had to move a few widgets into my secondary (right) sidebar.
