Background Path

Image

I’ve added a background image from one of the WordPress.com theme called ‘Path.jpg’. I couldn’t find any other images online without having to apply `credits` (whatever that is) just to use one ROYALTY FREE background for my weblog.

The `background position` element is set to `center`. However, I cannot remove the `extra sides`. When using the web browser’s zoom-in feature, the extra sides disappear. But zooming-out will make the sides of the images appear as a tryptich. A screen resolution of 800 by 600 pixels doesn’t show the extra sides to the `header` element.

As a result, I had to remove the `background color` and make that `transparent. The original colors (taken from the Tarski theme) for the links are brighter by three notches, too. The once darker colors no longer faded into the darker background image.

House Lost

We received a call from the Bitterone via the Gigolo. It appears the eldest sibling lost the house to Joh, my younger paternal cousin, who had advised the old hag to NOT pay on a government-sponsored, refinanced loan of $800.00 per month since December of last year.

Per the Gigolo, Uncle Dead pays in check on behalf of his eldest sister but has received a notice from Chase Bank that the house now belongs to a new owner, whom we suspect belongs to Joh.

Joh has told how he `felt bad about the matter` to the Bitterone, who in turned asked advice from Paw and Maw, who in turned told them to get a lawyer to see if it’s a done deal or just dump the old hag in the nursing home.

For all we know, this could be just another story spun by those same fools who went to Cache Creek right after the 40th death anniversary party.

I won’t forget what I saw. During the funeral party at a buffet, I noticed how Joh and his father Mac had been hovering around the old hag, whose right toes are bent out of shape, just like her deceased mother. Joh was holding her plate full of food, just right in front of the sushi bar when I saw noticed this event.

The Macster did mention LONG AGO how he would like his eldest sister to SELL HER HOUSE and move in with the Glorge and him. She proclaimed that she is not stupid to go along with that idea. And sure enough her house is gone. We will see if these fools will get out of this one. I hate that family now, seriously.

Maw called Maldeath up who had no idea and nothing to do with them because she has her two disabled grandsons and a couple of laid off workers to support and two houses to pay. So she’s off the hook.

The rest are too old to care. Joh and his creepy family must be responsible for taking care of the old hag.

Stick Him

Almighty stick of wood!
Can’t catch him if you could!
Earl the Squirrel is willy and quick!
Can’t get him with your stick!

“Clang! Clang!” of brassy key
Iron gate and noisy tree
Earl the Squirrel with walnut in mouth:
Headed up and not due south.

Author’s note: Over the weekend, Maw has been chasing my `Earl – the Squirrel`. In recent news, `Earl batters Caribbean, threatens US East Coast`.

Browser Busted

There is something wrong with the latest Firefox version 3.6.8.

  • The upload link for documents to one of my accounts didn’t work.
  • The preview button for the `CSS Stylesheet Editor` via `Dashboard >> Appearance` didn’t work.

So by using a different web browser, an IE8 for example, I was able to accomplish both tasks last night and tonight, respectively.

Adding Tagline

Yippee! I’m really using my brain tonight with my paid CSS upgrade!

Since there is no tagline hardcoded into this particular design, I used a `pseudo-class` element `:after` the `blog title` element. So now when a reader places the mouse over the `Site title` – `The Blogging Path` – the edited `a:hover` element will show a font size of 18 pixels for:

`The Blogging Path – Alternative topics and other rants`
