20101031-Weathery Ways

Today was beautiful! The skies were crispy, clear and blue. There were no clouds in the skies! Only the brightest sunshine came out to warm me throughout my naps! That’s right! I slept for three hours until I awoke around 1:30pm or so. The blinds were tilted slightly downward so that I could have some sun rays shine upon my sleeping form! That’s right! I haven’t recovered from this morning’s emergency with Paw’s temporary death throes. He didn’t see heaven, though. Later very few sylphs posed horizontally.

Then the evening skies were still and warm. The SF Giants won the fourth game against the Texas Rangers. The twosome came over to watch with us and ate dinner, too. I was the one who passed out most of the candy to approximately 66 customers, err, children. Then I decided that around 9:00pm was the closing time for passing out decay-causing candies and chocolates. The chips and pretzels were gone. The decorations that Paw and Maw put up by themselves were taken down by moi in, say, just ten minutes. I just didn’t want Paw to pass out while on the stepping stool. Maw helped to carefully place the contents in their containers for next year. I decided to cut and throw away the old twines attached to the decors.

The kids were normal. Some wore scary masks. One work an air pilot’s outfit. The usual fairies came out and that’s all I remember.

Privet, my friend

A fool in love makes no sense to me. I only think you are a fool if you do not love. I believe that everybody on this earth has a couple and here I am trying to find my love with whom we were meant to be long before we were born. I believe we came to this world to help each other find who we really are, and become all that we were destined to be. We will struggle through the hard times and grow through them. We will overcome whatever obstacles life puts before us and we will only get better with time. And as the years pass our love will grow and blossom, because we were meant to be. Help me to find you [stupid website here].

Vote By Mail

At around 4:00pm yesterday, Maw and I got pissed off because we needed to drop off all three of our “Absentee Ballots”, which we filled out together at the dinner table on Friday evening after dinner. Our choices were the same. We sealed, signed and dated the blue envelope and took pictures of each other holding our voting envelopes proudly.

We both left Paw to get ready for that evening’s mass prior to picking him up at around 4:30pm after dropping off our voting materials at the drop-off box near the flagpole. The box is located outside the building. A very blue-eyed, disabled guy (who looked similar to an ex-boyfriend on mine from years ago) took our blue envelopes and popped those into the drop-off box as a courtesy. He told us that we could check online for the status of the envelopes. Again, disabled people are good folks. He is the friendly type.

Anyway, I just went online at “The County of Santa Clara – Registrar of Voters (DEP)” to track our “vote by mail ballot” a few minutes ago. This is the response I got for the three of our votes:

I was, like: “Hey! WTF? It’s past 9:00pm!” I guess Absentee Ballots are not “counted” on weekends. Because when Maw and I went inside the building to personally drop off our envelopes, the place was closed and only open from Monday to Friday between the hours of 8:00am to 5:00pm.

So I’ll check back later on. But we know that the election process – from the candidates, propositions, measures, etc. – is rigged to the favor of the wealthy. That’s just our opinions, of course. However, I assume to know more than what the general public is not meant to know. Brouhaha!

Visitor’s Pass

At around 10:00pm, Paw passed away (temporarily). He actually “passed out” for approximately ten to fifteen fifteen to twenty seconds. Maw panicked and turned beet red in the face while trying to revive him in her arms. I let a blood curdling scream: “Dad!”. Maw said: “Call 9/11!” Paw said: “I’m okay.”

He was okay after the doctor at the emergency discharged him around 1:30am. Apparently, the increased dosage to one of his medicine prevents his heart from pumping blood to Paw’s brain while another medicine lowered his blood pressure.

I surmised that he was pissed off that we said more novenas and litanies than the normal three chaplets done in thirty minutes that evening; was still grieving internally for his recently deceased Maw; and got shocked from this afternoon’s news of his deceased uncle.

I also sensed that his physiological response to EXTREME psychological and emotional stress, like moi, is the decreased blood supply to the brain and the resulting cold and clammy feeling. Mine would be blue lips. His was the color of death – pallor of ash.

He temporarily died while sitting on his chair, which is usually positioned facing the miniature alter upstairs in Maw’s bedroom. I noticed he stamped his left foot out of FRUSTRATION, which was rare. His speech pattern was off and he couldn’t follow the prayers or respond accordingly.

Then I noticed that he started to turn left very slowly as if to look at Maw. His eyes were open and staring blankly to a slightly upper left hand corner. His body was stiff and unresponsive. His tummy didn’t move up and down to the rhythmic motion of breathing. He was really dead. His upper body slid slightly off the chair and onto Maw’s bed to his left as I saw his unblinking eyes in my seven o’clock direction from him.

I was standing at that time and didn’t flick or react until Maw said screamed for me to call 9/11. I didn’t feel ready to grieve at the time for I was on the phone with the response team and trying to answer the questions clearly and coherently. Right there, death doesn’t bother me. Right there, dying doesn’t frighten me. Right there, I was prepared to fight back the tears and didn’t care for my feelings.

I had to “be brave” as the boy told me while conversing at the waiting room. The twosome came after I called the boy’s cellphone, which he didn’t pick up because his battery needed charging and then hers, which she thankfully answered! But she mistakenly used the wrong sets of word to relay the message to the boy: “He passed away.” “He passed out” would have prevented the boy from feeling palpitation in his heart. He was pissed to have heard the incorrect words.

So it’s around 3:18am, Maw is sleeping while Paw is logging his entry for yesterday. Maw took her Valium and Paw will resume his old medication at 25mg a day. I (on the other hand) have had enough with those Masons, Satans, Wiccans and their bizarre rituals of bloody sacrifices. “All Hallows Day” may have taken his Uncle Julian this year and his grandmother “Taling” many years ago but last night was not the night to take Paw.

You will not pass this time.

20101030-Trying Theme

I’m trying another WordPress.com theme. This time it’s:

Coraline by Automattic

A squeaky-clean theme featuring a custom menu, header, background, and layout. Coraline supports 7 widget areas (up to 3 in the sidebar, four in the footer) and featured images (thumbnails for gallery posts and custom header images for posts and pages). It includes styles for print and the Visual Editor, special styles for posts in “Asides” and “Gallery” categories, and has an optional full-width page template that removes the sidebar. I didn’t like how the sticky post was “in the way” and on top of the most recent post entries. So, I placed my “Gravatar widget” in the “Feature Widget Area”, set the default layout to three columns with two sidebars placed to the left of the content and selected the “light” color scheme for darker fonts against a lighter (or yellow) background color.

The “Aside Category” is set to “rant”, which is ALL of my posts. The post titles to each blog entry is eliminated when viewed from the front/home page. The “Gallery Category” is set to “images”. I’ve yet to find out how this feature works out.
