This morning we attended the 7:00am mass. I was so anxious to get to mass that I hurried Paw, who knew as well as Maw, that most of the parishioners attended midnight mass and that this morning’s early morning service wouldn’t have lots of people. They were correct as usual.
So we took our pews near the front, right side aisle.
And there were surprise greetings from our parishioners. Prior to mass we had two: Seniora Josey came from behind to greet us. She shook our hands. You see her “medications” doesn’t always work and she sometimes has her episodes etched in her face from displeasure and her speech of criticisms. Carlos seemed hesitant as he wiped down the front of his mouth with his right hand (a usual Asian gesture of uncertainty) and walked from the choir section to our front right, down the aisle and towards us. He shook our hands and said little.
After mass, Bert and “Fay” came over to greet us. “Fey” was especially thankful to my bio-units for being quite generous with their present to the two elderly couple. You see the couple “served the Lord” during the nine days of “Simbang Gabi” this year and Maw noticed their efforts and, well, hugs, kisses and profuse gratitude was given. After the boy tried to introduce her to the elderly lady, the girl seemed unresponsive and didn’t bother saying “Please to meet you” or anything. WTF is up with her?
