20110225-Humor Me

Paw was telling his joke. This time it was about post-war cinemas that he used to watch long ago. In one movie, the plot was about WWII. The funny thing about some Filipino movies of old was the tendancy to show off. Actors would use Rolex watches and fire “ArmaLite” while in combat. The two items were historically incorrect!

Filiipinos back then are impoverished and didn’t have expensive watches to wear and “Carbelite” was the weaponry used at that time. They played Japanese parts, too. And because of their thick Filipino accents, there was no doubt that the actors were not Japanese. I’m sure there would have been much offense at the outrageousness in antiquated Filipino movies.

20110226-More Spooks

On 2/25/11 at 229pm, Maw answered a phone call. Someone from PG&E called about us being a member of “CARE.” She didn’t want anyone to change her light bulb and would rather use a flashlight and candles. Maw inquired if they were part of Obama’s tag team of environmentalists with Al Bore.

That night I saw a cable news station broadcast and old speech by Obama. In the blue background, there was the word “CARE” as in Obama Care and probably meant for the health care, not energy share.

On 02/26/11 at 154pm, Paw answered another phone call from the “CARE” team. Paw was asked if he was Hispanic. He replied that he was Filipino. Then the guy said it was a free service. Paw said: “There is no such thing as free.” He said to the caller that he CHANGED his mind and wasn’t interested.

For me, this attempt would have been an invasion of privacy — a free service that would allow a bunch of strangers to come into the home owner’s residence; to snoop around and find out if the place has energy-efficient appliances.

That morning, a GE 40W Crystal Clear vanity bulb blew out upon my flipping on the switch upstairs. That afternoon, a chandelier light blew out upon Paw fliipping on the switch downstairs. In my mind, the “CARE” team was pissed and hinted to us that we suck for not changing our smooth, easy-to-clean bulb and replacing their gay, hard-to-clean curly bulbs.

20110226-Weathery Ways

Today is clear, blue skies but not as crispy as yesterday’s magnificent show of fluffy, puffy clouds of white everywhere! If you didn’t get a chance to see the outdoors or at least open the windows and look outside, the you missed the beauty that is weather. There are a few remaining poof clouds and some snow can still be seen on two places of Mt. Hamilton.

We were much slower and more forgetful this morning as the three of us ate breakfast slowly. I fed the parakeets very little for breakfast. And then their recent peculiar, high-pitched “tweets” indicated that they needed more food. I set up the usual four newspapers below to capture their poop; YeYo’s nestbox so she could chew the inside of the container out of stress and hopefully give us another parakeet chick in her old ages; and opened the doors located on the top and front so they could fly around and discharge their pent up energy from cabin-fever during their night time sleeps.

Then Paw decided to go shopping at the DeCA Commissary Store in Moffett Field, CA. You see one cannot enter through the gate and go shopping without a military sponsor, who must present their identification card. The driver, too, must present a valid driver’s license to pass through the main gates. The south gate off Ellis Street has since been closed of for almost three years.

20110226-Noticing Numbers

At around 3:30pm, my car dashboard showed the following numbers: 70655 for the odometer and 3666 for the speedometer.

At around 4:33pm, the odometer to the MB E430 showed 38383 for the odometer.

At around 8:48pm, the blog stat widget to my weblog still shows 58,333 total views.

Now how’s that for saying “Hello” to moi many times throughout the day, nay the past few weeks, months and recent years?
