20110730-Trying Theme

I am currently trying Theme: Clean Home by Mid Mo Design. This is the ONLY WordPress.com theme that works well to allow SOME transparency to the background image of “The Shepherdess (1889) By William-Adolphe Bouguereau (1825-1905).

Other themes, such as “Koi”, “Liquorice” and “Neutra”, allow for full transparency of the background image but it makes reading difficult. With “Clean Home”, one could barely see the image without using the “zoom feature” or compromising the reading.

The “zoom feature” of my internet browser handles well (either “zoom in” using “Control and Minus sign” or “zoom out” using “Control and Plus sign”). By using the “zoom featuer” one could see the background image in it entirety.

For the “Display option” found under the “Background”, I set the following:

  • Position Background Position — Center;
  • Repeat Background Repeat — Tile; and
  • Attachment Background Attachment — Scroll.

Good work Flynn, you obviously put a lot of effort into that, and I agree with your findings. :)

I had not tried the large(est) version of The Shepherdess yesterday, I was trying various smaller sizes, trying to get it/them to fit into the sidebar empty/open space; Clean Home is my current favorite theme with transparency, I had tested it in the past, but I was afraid that the transparency would negatively effect reading a bit, though it is much better than some of the other transparent themes as you already know. ;)

Thank you for the details/update and for the hard work Flynn. :)

For those who got nothing better to do than “troll” on my personal weblog site, there is a surprise waiting to be viewed. Since my recent purchase of a “Premium Theme” — Minimum, I wanted to make use of all the features and functionality available in this weblog. Unfortunately, the “Customized Background” cannot be seen. But I did notice how the “background image” would quickly “flash” for the duration it takes for a webpage to load! I’m thinking of putting up a scary image for this Halloween.

I saw that Flynn, while I was troll…, errr (a famous word by Flynn), browsing your blog :D ; I was about to tell you about it. ;)

I think that is pretty cool, and that Halloween Idea sounds interesting Flynn. ;)

Perhaps, and I’m just thinking out loud, you could “help” pull up some Halloween-related “background images” for the “kids” (PG-13).

You are not a troll. You were just “strolling along” my blog.

I noticed it too. Good thing about Firefox is that I can right click and capture the URL so that I could get a good look at the full sized pic.

The “Studiopress” team fixed the problem. But because the image is too large to be set as “tiles”, I’ve removed the image and opted for a nice rosy pink-colored background.

Good idea Flynn, I will try to remember that (but I might forget); maybe I can find something later tomorrow when I get back. ;)

Yeah, thank you Flynn :) , I was just Strolling along your blog. ;) Hehehe

Hmm, so I guess that means no Halloween Surprise then. :D

There won’t be anymore need for any Halloween Surprise. And thanks for “Strolling Along” my weblog.
