20121230-Prayer Journal

Tonight, I had a VERY difficult time researching for the full text transcript of the Senate Prayer by Chaplain Barry C. Black. I searched videos and texts in C-Span, the U.S. Senate website, Politico (which uses WordPress), etc. I should have recorded today’s Senate “fiscal cliff” session (Dec 30, 2012) via the AT&T DVR but was too lazy.

Usually, when I channel-surf the television for a programming, some content are worthy enough to share, such as today’s governmental session, especially the opening prayer, which I connected well enough to send prayerful boosts. Here is the transcript gathered from various news/source links:

“As we gather this weekend with so much work left undone, guide our lawmakers with you wisdom.

Lord, show them the right thing to do and give them the courage to do it.

Be their shelter in the midst of the storm, regardless of how high the waters rise.

When they feel exhausted, remind them of the great sufficiency of your grace.

Look with favor on our nation and save us from self-inflicted wounds.

We pray in your great name.

Amen.”
